A fake brick-wall, built around a huge rock, hides the entrance to the first Hall, created by the founders in 1978 using only pickaxes and chisels. This Hall marks the very beginning of what would have later become the compound of the Temples of Humankind. Over the years, the Hall has maintained its original form, meanwhile the wall paintings have changed several times. Today, visitors can admire symbolic representations of the four elements: earth, water, air, and fire.
An exquisite mosaic, covering the whole floor, represents the Star Tarot Card, symbol of that pragmatic idealism which has inspired the creation of the Temples. The big blue sphere, placed in a wall niche near the floor, favors meditation and the contact with our inner self, allowing answers to the questions we keep asking ourselves to emerge.
A secret retractable staircase is hidden in this Hall. Its steps are decorated with mosaic and are completely invisible until the staircase unfolds, revealing the access to a lower level of the Temples. The secret passages we find along our journey in the Temples symbolize how we can open ourselves up to new visions and discover the potential and the richness hidden within us and in every human being.
